William Jurian Kaula diary
13 MAR 1898
At last a fine sunny day, warm and exhilerating [sic]. Out came my rusty old bicycle for a first ride. We went outside of the city on the south side through a little dirty suburb of Gentilly. The shanties, dumps, pools of water, and unattractive houses did not make a picturesque ride. The sun was shining and the air bracing and that was enough.

James Roger diary entry
13th (Saturday)
Frosty mild but not much thaw, cloudy afternoon threatening snow wind south to south west. David went to Greenville for coal, and to the woods in afternoon. I fixed Church fires &c. Got letters from Hamish, Alice, Jessie Mair and People’s Friend &c from Roslin.
This is a house I would have loved to live in instead of the one next to the high bridge. I have never seen this house and travelled River Rd a lot in the 50s. It has a sign on the barn that says "River View".
It must have been on River Rd and based on the terrain, on the right side of River Rd as you drive towards Bank Village. Assuming fewer trees in the 1800s the property near the Drone Services place is a candidate. The property was the summer residence of F.W. Ely who was in the cotton manufacturing business. The Drone Services property is only 1/2 mi for the High Bridge cotton mill.
The Ely property was bought from the Pritchard family. If the NIHS has a location for the Pritchard house then you might solve its location.
