While doing genealogy research I had found out that her birth name in Michigan was actually Rausi Johannah. So I had wanted that name but my daughter chose something else. Her husband, my great uncle John Somero, seemed to be involved with just about everything, given his work ethic...at one point owning 3 dairy farms in New Ipswich. Great Aunt Rose always made us feel welcome at her house even though she knew us little kids were squirming around in our seats. OBTW, the story of how the Somero tribe ended up in New Ipswich is quite interesting.
Thank you David. I loved my dad, he was everything you would want in a dad. I was blessed. He has been gone for 27 years...sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday.
Butch was a great guy. He was well spoken of by everyone. My uncle used to really like going down the road and hang out with Butch and his brothers at the farm and play basketball with the champion Appleton basketball team players while growing up. He'd then get a whipping when he got home as he would stay there so late.
When we moved to Stowell Rd about 1976, I thought we were told a couple
"O' Leary" sisters lived there??
I was thinking the last name was Hokansen???
That is most possible, I usually wait till Carl Toko fills in the blanks on names.
Only one more winter of snowblowing for me. That's one thing I won't miss.
My dad, Walter (Butch) Somero use to check on this house when the sisters were at their other home. My brothers and I would explore the property..
I suggested my daughter name her daughter after Butch's mother's as she was so nice to us children.
Did she name her Rose? My Mumuu's name was Rose Johannah. I have a granddaughter name Hannah Rose.

Butch Somero was a great person. Still think of him from time to time.
