Dental Clinic Starts in New Ipswich
The Hillsboro County Farm Bureau Dental Clinic has begun operations in New Ipswich and is in charge of Dr. G. Arthur Danforth. We are especially fortunate in securing Dr. Danforth. He is a graduate of Tufts Dental School, class of 1911. He is a member of Psi Omega fraternity.
Dr. Danforth has been a practicing dentist in Manchester since graduating with the exception of 14 months which he served at the United States Radio School at Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Danforth is a member of the New Hampshire and Manchester Dental Associations.
The clinic is a self-supporting work. The object of the clinic is to solve the problem of rural dentistry. Where parents have taken children to a dentist they will be urged to continue. There is absolutely no compulsion about the work. This work is an opportunity if the desire of the people is to take advantage of the clinic.
In each town there is a local committee who takes charge of local arrangements, mapping out routine, keeping records, etc.
When the work of one town is completed the equipment is taken to the next town and work there is completed.
Regarding the work done for adults: Where this is a community problem it is considered by the local committee and the committee and the dentist decide what work shall be done.
For any details concerning the matter get in touch with your Home Demonstration Agent at Milford, telephone 47-3.
James Roger diary entries

Fair and warmer; wind variable going west. David painting at Mrs. Parker’s. I cut lots. Got letter from Hamish who was at a Clambake reunion of the American Express Co. on Sunday and had a sail on the Hudson after but the boat grounded and he did not get home until midnight.
My father was born in New Ipswich the year after the aforementioned dental clinic was established. It didn’t seem his family visited the clinic for restorative work if the clinic indeed continued throughout the next decade. If there was a problem with a tooth in those times, they pulled it. Maybe they couldn’t afford the alternatives. My father had all healthy front teeth but almost no molars.
Re Taylor Road. Hasn’t there been a bridge out for a long time there? If so why hasn’t it been repaired or replaced?
Another picture of our house. The gazebo in the back is kuwl, but was gone when we bought the house. It would have been a great place to sit in nice.
