My father was born in New Ipswich the year after the aforementioned dental clinic was established. It didn’t seem his family visited the clinic for restorative work if the clinic indeed continued throughout the next decade. If there was a problem with a tooth in those times, they pulled it. Maybe they couldn’t afford the alternatives. My father had all healthy front teeth but almost no molars.
Re Taylor Road. Hasn’t there been a bridge out for a long time there? If so why hasn’t it been repaired or replaced?
The bridge has been out for years waiting on funding for repair. We heard it is scheduled for repair in 2025. That said, Taylor Rd has morphed into a favorite place for folks to walk or take their kids cycling. If it was up to me I'd say build a pedestrian only bridge in its place. Driving over to Page Hill Rd to get to Smithville Rd is really not an inconvenience. On the downside there's little maintenance done on Taylor Rd. After last winter there were large craters to drive around. The road crew fixed it up some in the spring, but it really needs some more serious repair. Understandably, they won't do that until the bridge is repaired. I would choose to take the rough road in exchange for continuing to live on what is essentially a dead end street.
You are lucky to have such a nice place. For most of my years in New Ipswich I lived next to Duval's (later Barry's) store, between asphalt (123A) and the river, no grass, no gazebo. When I was 15 we moved to River Rd.
The front porch, not shown in these old pictures, is one of the best features of the house. We sit out there for meals and when guests came over as long as the it was warm enough. It's nice to see who goes walking by and say Hi to your neighbors. We often comment on how people would pay to vacation there.

Another picture of our house. The gazebo in the back is kuwl, but was gone when we bought the house. It would have been a great place to sit in nice.
