Wonder why Helen Thayer (Emma) wasn’t mentioned by name in the obit.
People in Town still spoke, when I was a kid , of the loss of Mrs. Thayer. They said it was especially tragic for her children.
A terrible tragedy and a great loss for the town as well. I worked for Walter, Phil, and Billy Thayer, doing yardwork, making trips to the dump, driving the Tricnit truck, as well as working in the mill. I think Phil Emma's wife was named after her.
