7th April 1913 - Alcohol for Mother
Snow in the morning which mostly disappeared during the day. A cold, raw day, wind north. David went to Greenville for alcohol for mother, and him and Walter Hardy were working in somewhere in afternoon. I did some fixing in brooder house. Selectmen called this afternoon; valued horses at $160 and cow at $20. Number of hens: 170. Got postcard from Jessie. Matti Mathison called today and paid $5.00 for chickens hatched some years ago.
Hope it was’t gin for Mother.
Maybe Justin Smith had pigs? I know he had chickens..maybe the picture is older than the Smith farm? His father Lester had a farm in the 50s census. Probably same farm.
