James Rogers diary indicates the “Joiners finished church today.” Was that referring to when the church was rebuilt and joiners were carpenters? Or was it that a party of new church members participated in the ending rites of a worship service?
I think 'joiners' are carpenters skilled in mortise and tenon work. James' diary is (I think) mean to refresh his own memory and can be cryptic to an outsider.
