Marion was wonder-woman before Wonderwoman. Fixing a flat is not trivial. The car has to be safely jacked and stabilized. Getting a tire off the rim is not easy and patching a tube is a skill. The early Model Ts had band breaks in the transmission, 3 bands and therefore 3 brake pedals! No asbestos brake lining, metal on metal with a magnet in the transmission to catch the metal grit. One rear wheel had a parking brake controlled by a lever but was not to be used while the car was in motion. Also starting the car with a crank was not easy, you had to keep your thumb out of the way, otherwise a backfire would have dislocate it. Later ones had drum brakes on both rear wheels. On steep hills it was safer to go up the hill in reverse.
