In this obit we see a 'connection' between the Knowltons and Taylors. I find a similar situation here in rural upstate NY. The old Yankee families, the Hewitts, the Bulsons, the Littlefields, Witbecks, Gibsons, Herringtons, Willards, Hudsons, etc. here are well connected. So as a new arrival one has to be careful about criticizing someone, they may be a relative of your neighbor. The dam in the photo must be the one near Hildreth Pl but it looks large in that photo. Charles Wheeler had a sawmill downstream from that dam, I'm wondering if the road on the other side leads to it?
