Wrap-around Deck

Where is this?

I was thinking that this was the Hurd-Newell house behind the rock wall but the wrap-around deck confuses me. Looks like some demolition or construction had just taken place.

1st June 1912

Fair and warm; wind westerly. Dave & Lonie papering at Miss Barr’s in forenoon and Dave at Dan Brown’s in afternoon. I picked fowl, and Hamish and I fixed some gates and doors. He got letter from Albany which requires him to be there on Monday morning so leaves here tomorrow morning. Got letter from Alice who is busy moving to the shore. John Preston went by noon train today.
