Doing a search on the Elys I came across a marriage announcement of FW Ely's son Joseph Shattuck Ely who was living in Montclair, NJ (nice town, I lived there for 8 yrs). Joe Ely's maternal grandfather was Horace Shattuck from New Ipswich.
With regards to the Ely house, F W sold it in 1919 to Mrs Franklin Joy. The is a Joy Ln in Bank Village but no structures on it, and the road is short and not on a hill, so I don't think the Ely was there.
Nice stonework. The house looks familiar and I would have placed it next to (north side of) the brick house. However Google maps does not show a building at 97 River Rd. No street views for River Rd.

That was address for Madeline Stowe photography who owns the property. Across from Brick House near the split on River Road.
Does the Kaula house still exist?
Yes, apparently they owned all three.
