This is Nancy Clark's house (or half of it anyway). They have the lovely old barn relocated from Mass., I believe, and the carriage house behind the main house. Remember the cider press event last fall?
Hmmm, I guess I should have taken a better look at the house itself. It was identified as Schoolhouse 11 by Colin Carroll on Facebook, not sure if the building is still there, might need to take a field trip.
It is interesting that a journey to Boston began with getting to Greenville, presumably to take a train. Prior to railroads people took carriages or even walked all the way. One of my Whitney ancestors worked in Boston during the week and walked all the way to Ashby to spend the weekends with his wife and family. One of the early carriage roads diverted from Ashby Rd at the state line and ran up to the end of Whittemore Hill Rd at property owned by my uncle, Ivers Lawrence.

The more I look at it, though, the more I'm unsure. There is the old Highbridge schoolhouse down by the mill. Any other opinions?
This is not the Highbridge schoolhouse, that is largely unchanged from the 1914 photo https://nihist.substack.com/p/highbridge-school-circa-1914?s=w
Based on the topography this location looks like the intersection of Old Country Rd with River Rd.
I lived in Highbridge for 18 yrs and then River Rd. I walked and biked this stretch 100 or more times.
