Bill Currier in addition to being an inventor and machinist, was an amazing athlete. He was my ski instructor and I skied with his daughter at Mt Watatic and Temple Mt when they had rope tow skiing. He was also considered the best swimmer in town. I remember in the 50s when a swimmer at the Preston beach went under and didn't surface Bill was the person called to attempt to retrieve that swimmer. The area off that beach dropped of quickly and was quite deep. Bill and June also ran a ski shop in Bankvillage and I bought my ski equipment from them.
